Welcome to PC Community

PC Community supports users of personal computers running various versions of Windows, Linux, OS/2 and DOS. The membership is composed of all ages and backgrounds, amateur and professional.

Meetings

Main meetings are held at the Hayward Adult School, 22100 Princeton St, Hayward, on the first Friday of each month. Presentations include speakers from software and hardware vendors, PCC member presentations, and an "Ask the Experts" panel. Door prizes are awarded.

Special Interest Groups (SIGS)

SIGS are smaller groups of members, focusing on narrower topics. Meetings are held on different days throughout the month at members' homes, offices and at the Clubhouse.

The Clubhouse

PCC has a Clubhouse at the Hayward Adult School which is open on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays. Activities include computer troubleshooting, Special Interest Group (SIG) meetings and talking with other enthusiasts about computers. PCC maintains a network of computers at the clubhouse with various software products being shown on a demonstration basis. Internet access is also available through the network.

Community

PC Community has a long history (15 years) of donating computers to those whose lives can be changed by access to technology. Many computers have been refurbished by members and donated to members of the larger community.

PCC accepts donated computers and peripherals. The systems are refurbished and then donated to individuals, schools, senior centers and other groups that will benefit from having them. Volunteers have recycled over 300 computers, with most of the work being done at the Clubhouse by PCC members--it's a great way to learn and do good at the same time. Contact an officer to get more information.

Newsletter

PCC publishes an award winning monthly newsletter that includes reviews, articles about topics of interest to computer users, the Special Interest Group reports, the calendar of events for the month, directions and maps, and information about the main meeting. The newsletter is also available on-line. PCC maintains a list of members willing to assist other members with their computer problems and support is available from members on a more informal basis as well.

Web Site

Since you are here, you know that PCC also supports a web site and various related activities. We support Internet activities with several SIGs and information on this site.
