Tips & Tricks:

Sharing any information is easy. DualDate allows you to see calendars side-by-side. There is a better and FREE way that includes any imformation - Type a strange character or initials of a person as a bookmark next to anything you need to share with them. When you meet, do a search for that bookmark. After tapping to open that record delete the bookmark. Beam or share the information The next search will show all but the last item. Repeat this procedure until all the items have their bookmarks removed.

I make notes on my Palm of problems found around the facilities at work. Then, I use PrintBoy to print the list through the IR port on my HP5p laser printer to distribute to those who need to make corrections. And, the computer does not even need to be on for me to use the printer. This allows me to write the notes on the go and not have to type them when I get to the office. This also allows me to keep a log of notes to see if there are patterns that need to be corrected.

In 2005, the Palm OS included "Birthdate" in the Contact Records. However, if you have only one Contact Record for an entire family, there is only one "Birthdate" field in that Record. Therefore, I continue to do the following:
I set birthdays in my calendar with no time but with an alarm for 5 days prior. This gives me time to send a card or make arrangements to celebrate. I start the entry with "BD" then the Last Name followed by their First Name followed by the last two digits for their year of birth. (ie. "BD HornerChuck51") This also allows me to find birthdays quickly by searching the datebook looking for "BDHornerC..." If I searched just for their name, it would show up in many other places as well. I do the same with anniversaries beginning the entry with "ANN ..."

VoicePad (audio recorder in *.wav format) It is dangerous to write WHILE DRIVING. It is even more dangerous to try and press the "Record" and "Play" buttons at the same time on a tape recorder WHILE DRIVING. With VoicePad, I press one button and dictate to myself for future playback and data entry. It is also good for recording a song to research later.
